A. RULES

b) The Tournament Coordinator is responsible for ensuring there is a Game Director for all volleyball games.
c) The Game Director MUST be familiar with the FIVB rules and MRISA guidelines.
d) The Game Directors should be introduced at the Coaches Meeting or in the morning prior to the Tournament starting.
e) The duties of the Game Director will be to sit with the scorers at the score table and ensure the MRISA code of conduct and FIVB rules are followed by players and coaches. If coaches need clarification or have questions regarding rules during the game they must be addressed directly to the Game Director during an official time-out.
B. GAME ADMINISTRATION
b) In Senior and Junior competition there will be a separate girls’ and boys’ competition. Any mixed team must play in the boys’ competition.
b) Senior Net Height – Seniors will use the official net height for men and women as per FIVB rules (Boys - 2.43m; Girls - 2.24m)
Junior Net Height – Juniors will use the following heights (Boys - 2.20m; Girls - 2.15m)
b) Jewelry is not permitted. This includes chains, bracelets, watches, rings (exceptions are small studs when taped). One warning will be given per player from an official. If the jewelry is not removed, the player will be asked to leave the game.
C. RULE EXCEPTIONS
b) A maximum of 10 players are allowed on any team.
b) The first two games are played to 25 with rally scoring.
c) If a third game is required, it shall be played to 15 points with rally scoring.
d) Each game must be decided by at least a two point margin of victory.

Team 2 – 1 minute of serving (serving is allowed in the last minute only).

- Round Robin Tie-Break Procedure (May 2012): In the event of teams being tied in the pool standings at the end of the round robin stage, the tournament will use the following tie-break system. The ranking of each team in each pool will be determined as follows:

- If the referee is unsure, he/she may choose to replay the point.
- Any protest or appeal will be handled by the Game Director in accordance with the FIVB rulebook and MRISA guidelines and will occur after an appeal to the Game Director. The Game Director will make a decision in consultation with the Tournament Coordinator. The decision will be final.
K. Awards
- Winning Team - The champion of the tournament will receive a trophy and each member of the team and the coach will receive a medallion.
- Runner-Up - Each member of the team and the coach will receive a medallion.
- Plate Winner (5th Place) – if a tournament has eight teams, a Plate event should be included. The Plate Winner will receive a trophy.
- Team Sportsmanship - A trophy for “Team Sportsmanship” will be awarded to each gender.
- All-Tournament Team - The coaches will award individual students with “All-Tournament Team” awards. There will be 11 awards per sport per gender.
- Funds from the event participation fees shall be used to purchase the stated awards.
- Team Photos - The tournament host shall provide a framed team picture at all events with a placement plaque (Champions, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Plate Champions) and with name of event/year on the remaining 3. (Sept. 2011)
